Production Company: Glow Studios Inc. DBA Luminesque DanceUnion Status: Currently Non-Union Film/Stage(union members are welcome to audition, but would only be selected if we were approved to be a SAG signatory)

COMPENSATION: Honorarium - $200 Flat Rate

REQUIRED DATES:

• 1-on-1 direction call booked with actors availability 

  • 1 minimum, additional upon actor request

• April - 1 Filming + Photo day (Max 4 hours, date and times TBC based on actor availability)

• 1-2 short zoom rehearsals before filming booked with actors availability

LOCATIONS:

Shooting location is TBC but will be in metro Vancouver and actor would need to be able to get themself to the location.

CASTING:

Luminesque Dance is casting Player One, the on-screen face of our upcoming stage production MASTERPIECE. This role appears in pre-recorded video media projected throughout the show.

Player One is a livestreaming professional gamer who has just won a lottery to become one of the first players in the world to access the futuristic and mysterious new game: MASTERPIECE. Their fans are watching live as they log in, explore the game, react to its strange worlds, and slowly realize the deeper meaning behind it. This role requires someone with strong charisma, expressive facial acting, and natural on-camera presence!

Player One is confident, cool, and feels magnetic on camera. They have the effortless bubbly energy of a professional Twitch streamer, with a creative mind and artistic curiosity. They’re the kind of personality people love to watch online because they’re funny, expressive, slightly cocky, and deeply passionate about creativity. They love to learn the ins and outs of a game, and love the chase and thrill of a competitive win. 

Throughout the show, we see Player One react to the evolving game world. Celebrating wins, navigating losses, joking with their fans, getting frustrated, discovering new worlds, and ultimately realizing that art is better made with collaborators! 

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

We are casting with an intentionally wide call. Performers of all genders, ages, and backgrounds are encouraged to submit. We are especially excited to see anyone who has:

• Strong facial expression and emotional range

• Natural camera charisma

• Comfort speaking directly to a “livestream audience”

• Expressive upper body, hands, and posture

• A unique or visually interesting personal aesthetic

Gaming experience or familiarity with streaming culture is a strong asset but not required.

FILMING STYLE:

Player One will be filmed as if they are streaming from their gaming desk. The role relies heavily on micro-expressions, reactions, and expressive upper-body performance.

SELF-TAPE SCRIPT: PLAYER ONE

You’ve just gone live. Your fans are watching. You’ve just won the lottery to be one of the first people ever to play MASTERPIECE.

PLAYER ONE: Alright! Hello! How are you all today? Welcome back! (ad-lib with the live chat fans) Oh wow… lots of you on today, hey? Perfect timing actually, because I have some news… and you are not ready for this.

I need everyone to stay calm… Because I just got the email. We’ve all been waiting to learn more about this insane new game everybody’s been talking about but no one understands, called MASTERPIECE. Well apparently they’ve been on the hunt for the best of the best.. And surprising no one.. yes my friends… I just won the lottery. Access code acquired. So apparently, in just a few minutes here, we’ll be logging in… and we’ll now be the first people in the world to beat this game!! (winks and leans closer to camera)

So… if I disappear for the next few hours it’s because I’m inside a digital art dimension. And if I win? I’m gonna do a huge contest for a group to come play live with me! 

But if I lose… we pretend this never happened ok? (smirks) Alright. Console, ready! Let’s see what this game is made of. Logging in…

(we see a look of confusion at first, reading the screen, then we see their face shift to high excitement and determination as they settle in to play for the first time)

Looks like we get to choose what we want to create with for our first.. Arena? Hmm…Color. Sound. Movement. Words. Okay… I see why they made us submit our creative backgrounds in the lottery application now. But you all know I’m going with what I do best.. Movement of course! 

Oh… okay… Here we go. Entering the arena now. (grins at camera) Y’all ready? Let’s do this.

MASTERPIECE - SHOW INFORMATION:

Step inside the LumiVerse – a neon-drenched game that’s so immersive, no one’s quite figured out how to win it... or even what "winning" means. 

MASTERPIECE is Luminesque’s latest high-octane dance saga: a fierce, funny, and fantastical quest through a digital world where creation is currency, collaboration is power, and the only way forward is your art. 

When our lead player logs in for the first time, it’s all bright lights and solo glory – exploring characters, flexing skills, and dreaming big. But as they jump through levels and discover bizarre new worlds inspired by player avatars (AKA our Luminesque faculty), the game begins to shift. Alliances form. Competition heats up. And a question becomes: is it really about being the best and beating the rest? Or syncing up to build something unforgettable… together? 

Set against a backdrop of a bass-pounding soundscape, and kaleidoscopic visuals, MASTERPIECE is a full-on digital fantasy. From avatar skins and side quests to game glitches and level-up montages, our characters must evolve from lone rangers to creative collaborators. INTIMACY/COSTUMING

This role does not require staged intimacy or physical touch with other actors. Actors should be aware that the show and dance numbers do feature sexual themes in between the media scenes. Costuming will be flexible to suit the level of comfort of the actor.
